Paul Tesshin Silverman
My name is Paul Silverman and I am President of Integra Workshops. My company is dedicated to helping you and your organization achieve extraordinary productivity gains while eliminating stress. After graduating from Carnegie-Mellon University in 1985, I travelled to Asia. For 13 years I immersed myself in Japanese culture while working as a business consultant and receiving an MBA from Oita University. But Japan’s greatest experience for me was Zen Buddhism. That extraordinary period of my life challenged all of my preconceptions and helped me open my mind and heart to greater growth, meaning and opportunity. I am honored to be the first westerner to be named the head of a Zen Temple in Japan. And continue to serve as the Head Abbot of Tetsugyuji Zen Temple in Japan (www.tetsugyuji.com).
In America, in addition to running Integra Workshops, I continue my work as a Zen monk. I work in partnership with the Red Cross Chaplain team in times of disaster, sit on several interfaith committees and serve as the Director of the Garden of Hope. I am also passionate about my work as a personal coach because it is through the development of leaders that we can transform the world. Influential professionals have already proven their abilities but by exploring their larger capacity and passion – their impact is exponentially increased.
As a coach for Integra Workshop programs, I have helped improve the productivity of executives in many Fortune 500 organizations including Pfizer, JP Morgan Chase, Honeywell, Siemens, Genzyme, Prudential, Google, Citigroup, PWC, AXA and Avon. I have also worked with a number of federal agencies including the Dept of Justice and Dept of Defense. Professionals who completed Integra’s Hero Programs have gained greater command and control over their information while recovering significant periods of time each week. These behavioral changes have significantly improved client service, work/life balance and organizational productivity. Other notable participants include White House senior staff under President Barack Obama, President Bill Clinton’s personal staff and officers at the Pentagon.
Life is not just about work though. I live in Westchester County with my amazing wife and five children. I also enjoy Boy Scout Leadership, triathlon training, pilot training, yoga, gardening, bee keeping, and cooking.
